ground was broken on september 13th, 2010 for city square. now all they have to do is tear down 20 acres of land, build an underground parking garage, and extend front street to foster street. the people who lived there much longer before the common outlet mall was ever there will be very happy to see it gone and front street reconnected with washington square for the first time since the late 60's and early 70's. I'm not originally form this city, I've only lived in worcester since the end of 2006 around christmas that year, and I've learned some research about the history of this city over the internet.

the new building is well under construction, I saw it from hamilton street as I passed by the other day and there are bricks being put on the building, and is expected to be finished in 2011, then afterwards the current building (which opened in the late 60's to early 70's as a middle school until the 80's as its current location) will be demolished and replaced with parking lots and athletic fields.
